Case Studies and Examples
In early 2025, I designed a new logo for Reclinker, a UK-based sustainable tech startup. We started with a chat about the key elements of their identity which they wanted to make clear at first sight. I explored colours, typography and shapes in mood boards. A couple of rounds of revisions later and I sent them their full logo pack with colour, black and white, inverse, print and digital scalable versions, along with some guidelines on use. I'm also really proud of founding Tick Zero, a resource aimed as giving clear information about climate mitigation to a wide audience, as well as creating the Tick Zero Award providing climate change learning resources for schools. Not only did I build the brand from scratch and establish the brand guidelines, I also built the website, produced the films and created all other design materials. The resource has built a significant following and was featured in The Guardian when it launched.
88 Pianists was a record-breaking school outreach project aimed at building a generation of climate-aware engineers, and I loved creating the brand and taking on the role of Head of Design, Branding and Communications. This project enjoyed wide coverage in the press across the world.
Leeds Playhouse underwent a dramatic rebrand in 2018/2019 and hired me as their sole graphic designer for the season. I really love working with a long-term client because it gives me a chance to really get to know their output, their team, their audience and their goals. It's also important to ensure a consistent and coherent brand identity and I'd always recommend that organisations ensure that their brand guidelines are created and maintained by a regular designer. I acted as the 'guardian ' of the brand for the season, maintaining and managing their brand identity and even delivering brand design training to all staff.
